💛 About Roo
I’m Jerusha “Roo” Winchester, founder & CEO of Roo’s World. I’ve spent over 33 years in education and child development, including 22 years in public schools (Fayetteville and Rogers), serving in general education, special education, behavioral programs, and as a PE teacher for students K–12. For the past 15+ years, I’ve led after-school care and summer camp programs.
In 2020, I followed my heart and founded Roo’s World, a nonprofit built to serve children and families in our community. I hold a Bachelor of Education (K–12) and have additional graduate training focused on working with children who have experienced trauma.
My passion is simple:
to reach, support, and uplift as many children and families as possible.
Roo’s World is built on connection, belonging, and what we call “Roo-ology”-the art of having fun, exploring, and learning the value of self. As we grow toward 10+ locations across Northwest Arkansas, my goal is to expand this impact and share our model so it continues far beyond me.
I believe in kindness, empathy, and investing in others-always.
I believe every child, every family, and every person has immense value.
And I will spend my life making sure they know it. 💛
